Brinklow 5 (Nelson 9, Platt 13, 23, Cawley 47. Laws 60) Jaguar–Daimler 0
Brinklow ran rampant as they opened their league campaign with an emphatic victory. Danny Nelson opened the scoring on nine minutes latching onto Ollie Chater’s cross, holding off two defenders and firing home from close range. New signing, Alex Platt opened his league account on 13 minutes bursting into the penalty area and firing a shot which took a deflection past the keeper. Platt increased Brinklow’s lead ten minutes later when he was first to react to a Ryan Byrne free kick, coolly slipping the ball in at the far post. Shortly after the break Platt turned provider crossing into the penalty area for Liam Cawley to capitalise from the ensuing melee. Brinklow’s fifth goal came after a shot from Platt could only be parried by the visiting keeper leaving Carl Laws the opportunity to head home.
