Bedworth Nursing Cup – Under 13’s Final

Brinklow 1 – Ambleside Aztecs 0 (after extra time)

(Played at Bedworth United)

A goal two minutes from the end of extra time brought the silverware home to Brinklow.  The game’s first half was evenly matched with Brinklow playing a passing game whilst Ambleside relied upon a route one strategy playing the ball straight to their big front man. Brinklow had the ball in the net after 29 minutes but Alex Bragger’s header was ruled out for offside. The Ambleside keeper denied Brinklow on 43 minutes when what seemed to be a goal – bound Luke Kennedy free kick was brilliantly parried away. The second half saw Brinklow with the lion’s share of possession but being unable to break a resolute Ambleside defence. As extra time ebbed away a pass from Jack Hilton found John Coleman on the right of the goal area. The big striker sent a looping shot over the advancing keeper into the corner of the net to secure the trophy for Brinklow.


Coventry Alliance League

Premier Division

Brinklow 0 – Christ the King 1

Brinklow lost to a controversial goal in the 87th minute. The ball appeared to have been cleared following a Kings attack but was judged to have crossed the goal line.

Division Three

Dunlop Reserves 2 – Brinklow Reserves 2

Goals from Tom Ford and Matt James secured a share of the points for Brinklow who look forward to playing their football in Division Two next season.


John Bryan Coventry Minor League


Under 7’s

 Brinklow played a superb passing game and put on their best performance of the season at Rugby Town. Jacob Smith grabbed four goals whilst Man of the Match Calvin Coates scored a hat – trick. Other goal scorers were Riley Bloxham (2), Logan Cooper (2) and Cameron James.

Under 8’s

Brinklow turned the game around with a brilliant second half display against Southam United. Goals came from Luke O’Callaghan, Joshua Tilley and Zac Chamberlain whilst the whole team were given the Man of the Match award.

Under 14’s A Division

Brinklow 2 – Stratford Town 0

Connor Mort and Lewis Cleary were on target for Brinklow as they took all three points at home to Stratford.
