Brinklow 7 (Platt 17,20, Chater 26,55, Nelson 45, Pulford 73, Cawley 78)
Coventry Colliery 1 (69)
Brinklow emphasised the gap between the Alliance Premiership and First Division by breezing home against Coventry Colliery.
Alex Platt opened the scoring on 17 minutes after Danny Nelson controlled a cross to set up a tap in opportunity.
Platt was on hand to double the lead three minutes later when he met a Ryan Byrne corner at the far post.
Brinklow’s third goal was a moment of pure quality. Josh Banton produced a long pass to pick out Ollie Chater, who hit a brilliant volley over the keeper from 20yards.
Brinklow went four up just before the break when Alex Platt’s corner was met by Danny Nelson, whose powerful header crossed the line before the visitors’ keeper could get a hand to it.
A mistake from the visitors defence allowed Ollie Chater to make a run into the box and fire past the advancing keeper to make it five- nil after 55 minutes.
Colliery grabbed a consolation goal much against the run of play, on 69 minutes.
Lloyd Pulford dispossessed a defender and produced a rasping shot into the bottom left corner of the net on 73 minutes.
Liam Cawley wrapped the game up on 78 minutes with a twenty five yarder which shot hard and low into the right corner of the visitors’ goal.
